I’m back and Yes, I am late in sharing my vacation notes – so what!

Yes, I do realize I am beyond late sharing my vacation news but that’s just the way the cupcake crumbles sometimes…. And yes, I do have a cupcake that I will eat a little later on – today’s flavor: chocolate cupcake with white frosting and topped with coconut. Yummy!!!

My Jamaica vacation was so WONDERFULLY RELAXING. We arrived on the not so sunny island of Jamaica on Saturday, May16th and were shocked by the renovation that Montego Bay's Sangster International Airport had undergone. We hadn’t been to JA since 2006, which has been absolutely, insufferable because I do love Jamaica. But we had to try some other places like Bermuda, partake in some family celebrations in Las Vegas, take a cruise or two to the Bahamas and one year I do believe I did not take vacation --- I feel faint just writing that, but it is true. I will have to double check my old calendars because that just doesn’t sound right.

So back to my story: The airport in MoBay is wonderful – the shopping is great, plenty of places to eat and drum roll…..it is air-conditioned. Hallelujahhhhhhhh! So that was a nice surprise – a/c in the airport. Then we headed outside to find the driver sent by our hotel (http://http://www.negril-treehouse.com/). The surprises kept coming! As I exited the terminal, I heard my sister, Brenda laugh aloud and knew that she had seen someone she knew and she had: Norris Fenton, a driver in Negril and a wonderful man. And he had a new van too – everything was popping up new in Jamaica!

If you ever need a driver while in Negril you need to give him a call @ 876-384-2596 or just ask for him at the front desk at the Tree House. Continuing, he drove us home – I typed home without even thinking about it – I do feel like I am at home when at the Tree House so I guess typing the word home was a natural thing to do. With Norris behind the wheel, I was sliding into complete vacation mode since I knew I was safe.

My travel crew this year included a friend who had never been to Jamaica except on a cruise ship so I was excited to introduce her to our Jamaica and I wanted her to have a good time. You know how you love something so much that you hope your friend(s) feel the same way. Well she did! She said she never relaxed so much on vacation – she is the type who rips and runs going on tours and the such but not this time. This time she chilled and didn’t have to hear anyone call her Mom once! And while she LOVES her children beyond words she did have to admit it was nice to not hear the M-word once. Now she did call her daughter everyday but that is to be expected – actually I think her daughter called her more than she called her daughter but I could be wrong.

So we made our way to the Tree House and to our rooms before heading down to Margaritaville for some bar food with a Jamaican twist. I mean Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, backstory: When we first started going to Negril it was just plain old Margaritaville but then the owners went into business with Jimmy Buffett who is famous for his hit song Margaritaville.

After we ate and drank, we headed back to our rooms and dropped off to slumberland!

I promise to tell more tomorrow~
